As such the committee is composed of champions/allies who are tasked with proactively ensuring equality and equity in nine designated areas:

· Disability & Chronic Illness

· LGBTQI+

· Mental Health

· Parent / Carer

· Gender

· Social Class

· International

· Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicities

· Neurodiversity

Also, the committee consist of students and other academic and professional staff who inform, support, and collaborate with the Champions/Allys to meet our goal. At present the committee has representative from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Student support group and Mature Students support group.
As a committee we strive to be socially activist and embrace the fact that Higher Education institutions have the unique position in society to contribute to the discourse around social justice issues – in its creation of knowledge, development of professionals, and its nurturing of citizens.
