I am delighted to endorse the efforts of the School of Psychology in achieving a Bronze Athena SWAN Award. The School has worked hard to embed the principles of the charter into its day-to-day activities and to influence decision making at all levels. Participation in the scheme has already had a number of benefits including transparent recruitment processes, enhanced knowledge of internal promotion opportunities, fairness in the allocation of workload, and focused support for women returning from maternity leave. I anticipate that many of the additional new initiatives will also further enhance the School’s internal and external reputation. The School’s success serves as an exemplar for the College and the rest of the University.
